A character minimum for reviews.#322

I know a review is an expression of the individual but i really dont think 1- 2 line reviews help anyone.

Id love to see a character minimum set for reviews to encourage people to actually TALK about the game they play.

Too many times have i looked at a game and been exited to see it has reviews only to be met with….
“Its good”
“My kid liked watching me play”
“A classic”
“Better than the original”
“It was fun but then it wasnt”

None of these types of reviews help anyone to actually learn what a game is about or its mechanics, what to expect from the game or even what the individual really thinks of the game.

I also made a ticket for stopping “Spam Reviews” but i didnt offer a solution, i think this could be this solution.

While short reviews can sometimes be impactful, we are working on improving the sorting system to prioritize high-quality reviews rather than restricting shorter ones. By adjusting visibility based on review quality, we hope to naturally highlight more insightful reviews.

A character limit for reviewing would be a bad thing, some people don’t want to write in depth reviews like other people. Some people like to form a review in their own way, not be forced to have to draw out a review to meet a limit.
